delaneyrice - Meet My Team!!

Before we get started here is a lil overview of how my World Race squad is set up and split between all of us!

First off, I am here with a group of about 30 18-21 year olds on the mission field. We can't have all 30 something of us showing up to one single ministry site, so from there World Race splits the squad up into 6-7 teams each including around 5 racers! Teams spend most of their time here together. We have team times together each night, go to ministry together as a team, and live in the same room.

My team is named Team Anav (Ah-Nuh-Vah) which means "Humility" in Hebrew. "Anav" is a condition of a person, or a characteristic of one's heart, and it refers to those who have learned to be spiritually humble in character and dependent on God because of their afflictions. Our team name was chosen as a sort of vision for how we hoped out team would be. We prayed for a team that is wholly dependent on God for everything: strength, peace, and everything in between. It's a nice motivation to continue to rely on The Father and also an accountability tool. (It's hard to be an openly sore loser when you're on a team all about humility lol)

Anav is a group of 5 girls who all have completely different personalities. We would have never picked the team we were placed on, and probably would have never guessed any of us would have been friends in the first place. Through the months we have learned what it is like to choose into one another and to consciously air on the side of love always. Now, 7 months later I can confidently say that our team couldn't function without every single personality present. Each girl plays a vital role in how our team works together in life and in ministry. We all portray the love and wisdom of the Father in a different ways. The differences are now appreciated deeply, and there is now a rich undercurrent of love for one another in everything we do.

Caroline!

Height: 5'10 (tall queen)

Age 18

Place of Origin: Alabama

Nicknames: Carol, Caro, Care Bear

Fun Fact: Listens to obscure European rock bands on repeat and will say a flirty pickup line to the team at least once a day.

Overview: Caroline is a feisty woman set on using her passion for The Kingdom. She is sensitive to hearing the voice of the Lord and won't move until she has confirmation from Him. Driven! Caring! Bold!

Grace!

Height: 5'5

Age: 19

Place of Origin: Alaska

Nicknames: Alaska, Alaskan Wild Child, Alaskan Bush Wild

Fun Fact: An avid bird watcher and will stop everything she is doing to chase down the sound of a bird. The biggest cuddler on the team.

Overview: Grace is the most down to Earth person I've ever met. She is unapologetic in who she is in the Father and sees beauty in everything she comes across. She will love you exactly where you're at while always leading you back to Christ. Joyful! Genuine! Disciple!

Harlie!

Height: 5'7

Age: 19

Place of Origin: Washington State

Nicknames: Harles, Harlie Davidson, Harleton

Fun Fact: Loves motorcycles, rodeos, and cowboys. Her laugh sounds exactly like a car alarm when she thinks something is really funny.

Overview: A woman of wisdom! Harlie listens before speaking, and when she speaks she will drop bombs of knowledge. You see compassion and knowledge in her eyes. And she will give you whatever you need in the moment whether that be jokes, silence, or advice. A true leader in The Kingdom! Humble! Kind! Brave!

Savannah!

Height: 5'3

Age: 19

Place of Origin: Arkansas

Nicknames: Sav, Savvy

Fun Fact: The sweetest and most shy member of Anav, but once you reach a deeper level of friendship she will show her feistiness and threaten you at the drop of a hat. Will share any of her belongings with you no matter what.

Overview: Savannah is a woman who walks in immense faith! She is confident in the words the Father speaks over her and gains her identity from Him alone. She will give everything she had to those in need without a second thought. Gentle! Firmly Planted! Compassionate!

Delaney!

Nicknames: DSue, DSway, Lahney

Fun Fact: Bought a safari animal nightgown from Walmart and has worn it everyday since. Will randomly burst into song at any moment. Unintentionally became the team mom.

Overview: Delaney is unapologetic when it comes to being herself. From her wild animal nightgown to her unique art style, she isn't afraid to let her true colors show. She is loving beyond measure and won't let you leave a conversation without feeling the love of the Father. Passion! Beauty! Protector!
